About Gradient

Gradient is a pitch-shifting delay with two units, A and B. Each has its own pitch, delay, feedback and output, so a single instance can make a shimmering octave tail on one side and a detuned slapback on the other.

Run them in Dual mode for two independent voices, Link them so B follows A at a fixed pitch and delay interval, or turn on Cross-feedback so each unit feeds the other.

Features

  • Two independent pitch and delay units, A and B.
  • Dual, Linked and Cross-feedback modes.
  • Pitch of ±24 semitones plus ±50 cents of fine tuning on each unit.
  • Regen (feedback) up to 350% per unit, with tempo sync for each delay.
  • Three splice modes (Normal, Soft and Smart) and an adjustable crossfade length.
  • Drift for slow, random variation.

Controls

Mode

Mode controls
ControlRangeWhat it does
Dual Mode—Runs unit A on the left channel and unit B on the right, as two independent voices. Off, a single mono engine (unit A) runs, and unit B's controls, Stereo, Link and Cross-fdbk do nothing.
Stereo0–100%Blends the two units' outputs toward mono. At 100% A is hard left and B hard right. Dual Mode only.
Link—Makes B follow A at a fixed interval. Dual Mode only.
Link Pitch±24 stPitch offset of B from A while linked.
Link Delay±1,000 msDelay offset of B from A while linked.
Cross-fdbk—Feeds each unit into the other. Dual Mode only.
